I recently got what seems like a really good deal on a new Sealand 964MSD porta pottie from a marine dealer that is going out of business. Only problem is, I didn't realize that there are two different types of porta potties:redface:! Is there any problem using this MSD unit without plumbing it for pump out or venting? The boat I intend to fit it in is an O'Day 222...

Not necessary to plumb it.

But even on a 22' boat, there's no reason not to plumb it if/when you ever decide that carrying the tank ashore has gotten to be more of a pain than it's worth.

Ms. Hall,
The old gent I purchased from indicated that this unit would drop right over the old attachments from the previous unit and clip in. My currently installed attchments look like grab handles and are about 12 1/2 inchs apart. Do you know if this is correct?

We have that head on our other boat (Mac 26m). Don't have it plumbed in, works fine. You can take it out on deck and have a pump out boat/dock pump it out. No biggie.

Sometimes when it is warm out, it plumps up a bit in the holding tank portion. Just burp it (open the valve and close it) before you use it so stuff doesn't spray up.

yea, dumping it is not a pleasant task
