Seafarer 30 Grand River, OH
We are novice sailers and just bought a 1978 Seafarer 30 ft would like to hear from owners and how they like this sailboat. We live in CLE area and will dock in Grand River, OH. on Lake Erie. My husband Dan is a Learjet private pilot and we feel his flying expertise will help him learn to sail easily hopefully. I have been a flight attendant for 34 years so I will make a good co Captain. Any helpful hints etc. would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Dan and Peggy Plowman from Mentor, OH.:D

My suggestions: find a local marina and see if you can find someone to give you sailing lessons on your boat. It's money well spent--lots of fun, a chance to get to know your boat, and with a good teacher, you'll learn a lot.

Second suggestion: see if you can crew on someone else's boat on some weekend races. It's a great way to watch seasoned sailors as they go for good speeds.

ALL Good

All good helpful info to get sailing lessons but look for some one to go out on your new to you sailboat and let them teach you and help you to learn how to sail your new sailboat.
My wife wanted to learn to sail back in 2000 and so I got the dealer to give us both sailing lessons on our boat and when I had a friend come sail with us who had been sailing many years did not have a clue what all the the lines coming back to the cockpit was for.
All new and old sailboats sail different and a little help would really be good for a newbie to learn everything about his boat.
