No direct experience with the kayaks. But, I have a couple of friends who own them; One couple who are very experienced NW sailors and have at least one on their boat. Another friend in Montana who loves his for less strenuous small lake kayaking. We saw several of them being used up in the San Juans last summer (although from the shore not from a boat), and they seemed to be serving their users very well.

I bought one of their SE8 inflatable boats because I thought I'd put an electric motor on it and that it would take up less space if we didn't want to deflate it (HA!). We had to buy a bigger boat to carry the inflatable! And, I'm still not sure that I shouldn't just sell the SE8 to whoever would take it off my hands and order a kayak or two.

Yep, Advanced Elements make good inflatable kayaks. I have the double and wife has the single. Can't beat it, just roll 'um up and throw them in the truck back seat, bed, or trunk of car and away you go! I also have a PVC inflatable 10.5' and I think it is my 7th inflatable Dingy. Chief

I have a seaeagle and it is the best bang for your buck, the others are much more expensive if you look online.

Seaeagle makes good stuff at a good price but Advanced Elements sells the Lagoon 2 double for about $500. Chief

Good price

I paid $220 two years ago and got a better price because it had a dime sized patch. It came with a 3 year warranty from the factory. Just look for a while and find a good price.

Dave,

How are they for boarding? That's a big question too. If Ann goes in, you're a single sailor again. Or. . . is this the idea? Maybe they're great, I don't know, just trying to stir up trouble!

Has anyone tried the Walker Bay Airis? I was looking at them at the winter boat show. More expensive than the Advanced Elements, but the WB is half the weight 27 lbs. vs. 56 lbs. and smaller packed size 26" x 20" x 10" vs. 36" x 20" x 10".
For something to be carried on board and just used to padde around anchorages etc., I would think the weight and size of the WalkerBay would be better? But, I haven't paddled either so don't know how they handle. All I know is I'm tired of tripping over the plastic kayaks on the deck...

A local dealer sells them, so we intend to try one out before buying.

Most inflatable singles won't hold squat. Thats why I have a double to carry all the extra stuff and wife has a single. Chief

I just looked at Arias online. Looks interesting , but $1000.00 for the tandem is a dealbreaker for me.

I thought it was pricey too, but I've spent twice that on plastic sit on's, so if it works the best for what we want? And weight and bagged size are a consideration. We'll be stowing on board.
