Sea water faucet in the kitchen

I have a seacock dedicated only to feed the desalinator machine. This is located almost below the galley.
The question is, can i put a T to feed a new electric water pump for the galley ?
Do i need to put another valve after that ?
What is the smallest electric pump that will work ?

I question your need for raw water in the galley. Your desalinator should supply plenty of fresh water. Using raw water in the sink introduces a lot of salt into the boat. Even being careful, you will splash water about when rinsing. And the dishes and dish towels will retain some salt.

Should not be a problem, the check valves in the pump will keep water going in the right places. I have a foot powered sea water pump for the sink. Whale, MK 3. Works fine. If you want an electric pump, the smallest capacity would be fine. The Aquajet 2.5 on this site would be ok.

I did exactly what you are talking about. Great addition. I teed off line but put a on/ off valve going to small pump. Dawn dish soap works good in salt water and then final rinse with fresh.

The only issue I could see...
If the Galley drain is to close to your new thru hull intake for the desalinator...

you may intake soapy/greasy water into the desalinator. Bad thing to do.
Jim...

PS: You might alternate their use, with a good time delay.

I will post some photos of the installation, thanks to all. We found that we use more fresh water to clean dishes than for showering.

Most that I've seen have a simpler solution and that is a double action foot pump for the sink rather than an electric pump. Less power draw, sea water for washing and rinse with fresh. Thought of doing the same here, but we carry 150 gallons of fresh with no off shore plans. If we were to venture out, would likely install a double action sea water foot pump at the gally sink with a valve to select between fresh and sea water.

I just redid our sole and had to open up the "fresh" water lines--- somewhat gross! Remember that the fresh water tanks have an air tube to a thru hull. The lines and water filter housing that sat empty for months were gross. I think that using a valve and running sea water thru the same fixtures as fresh wouldn't be my idea of totally sanitary. but I'm only now considering my fresh water tank as a light grey water tank and bringing gallons of bottled water.

Both our tanks remain clean and fresh. Alternate each as we use. Also use PUR brand galley sink faucet filter for our drinking water.

Of course.
Put a dirty glass full of water outside for just a few weeks. Gross!

The only reason water lines stay clean in landlubbers home is dissolved Chlorine gas, under pressure.
No pressure, no Chlorine is just a few hours.
So...
Clean out your system, just like new pipe lines are done by Landlubber utility companies, each season.
Then rotate you water tanks like @Terry Cox and many others.

About the water thanks on a 41, do you have bot supply the water or do you use one then the other one? Last navigation i were on the same tack for 12 hour, i find that my water tank upwind moved all the water to the other one. I am doing something wrong ?

@Valerio You probably have more than one of the tank's valves open in the manifold/selector.. if you don't want that to happen, only open one of the valves at a time.

What is the best method for keeping your water tanks, (3 in our case) clean and being able to drink the water from them?

Jeff... Regular maintenance of your water lines/tanks and spring commissioning of them with chlorine bleach. Search on the forums for spring commissioning of water systems, Or review the messages of @Peggie Hall HeadMistress. She often reviews the commissioning procedure for water systems when asked.
