Hooray, the engine work is done. We get to sea trial the new to us Catalina 380 that we put a deposit down on Feb. 22. Hopefully we will close sometime next week and then it's a matter of sailing it back home to San Pedro where the new slip awaits. I plan on giving the engine a good work out and a careful check for leaks and such. The surveyor had a question about the dripless shaft seal saying that he didn't know the age so we 'might' want to replace it. Any thoughts on that would be appreciated. It didn't look bad at all to my trained eyes. The other items were some fresh water leaks and a macerator pump that didn't seem to work. Closer inspection showed wire nuts on the connections so that is the first place I'll check but I did get a new macerator just in case on close out at West Marine. Wish us luck!
