This may sound like a dumb question, but I am trying to locate the sea strainers for the 2003 Hunter 420 I recently purchased. I found one air conditioning strainer and think that is for both A/C units. But haven't located the sea strainers for the engine, nor the generator. Anybody have and ideas and pictures of what I am looking for? Told you it was dumb.:confused::confused::confused:

If it's pretty new I'd expect to find the strainer above the engine in the engine compartment, it'll look like the strainer on a Doughboy pool, sort of. Gray body, clear screw on lid, 2 hoses, one going to the raw water pump other to the thru hull.
Or find the raw water pump on front of engine and track the hoses, one to the strainer and thru hull (see above) other to heat exchanger on top of engine. The raw water pump will be the little brass one to left as you face the engine.
Forget that, I just found the owners manual, check page 60

If the location is anything like our 2000, you will find the engine raw water strainer under the aft berth just to the rear and below the a/c unit on the port side. The gen strainer is located under the floor hatch at the base of the aft berth on the starboard side. As you found the a/c strainer is under the floor hatch in front of the fridg.

Great thanks. I saw some containers there but wasn't sure what they were and both are very difficult to get to. Plus since the diesel tank is also there, I wasn't sure if they had something to do with it.

I Looked in my manual, but it just shows where it should be. Actually they don't match up.
