The other day I witnessed a perfect bird repelant while I was at my boat. There was either a gull or a tern on every piling. They were just hanging out. Suddenly they started making a racket and took flight all at one time. I wondered what had spooked them until an adult Bald Eagle flew over when it was gone they came back and settled onto their piling perches again. Forget about owls get an eagle.

Eagles are good, but....

... around here the seagulls and blackbirds or ravens can harass the eagles.

However; having said that, here is a youtube video of a couple eagles catching a seagull for lunch: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JSiBiZHr264

seagull harassing an eagle: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c7B4EbGRTVg&feature=related

It's probably something like a fighter plane vs. a bomber.

youtube is full of these. Here is one from BC of an eagle picking off a seagull in the water. Don't know why it took the eagle so long because they're really good at picking something up like a fish that gets even close to the surface. Maybe they were just playing with their prey before the kill.

Every spring since 2005 the marina is full of Terns till May for mating season and then they leave....what a racket they make and trying to scare them off the dock is just a waste of time when they too close to my boat and start hanging out on the pilings I shoot them with a water pistol....that works for a little while but I'm liking the eagle method, Ill have to research a decoy

saw a huge blowfish under boat--- eating bottom growth... have also snappper an d bagra, or catfish , inda souf......is awesome here for nature.....the osprey sit on our mast heads and fish for dinner....the pelicans and frigates usually fly around hunting..sometimes a frigate will sit on a masthead and mess a deck beyond belief....
