I recently bought my 1st boat, a Catalina 380. I would appreciate any recommendations concerning what type of sea anchor and/or drogue might be appropriate for my boat? Thanks!
A Drogue or sea anchor is for laying low in a gail to keep from falling to the bottom of a trough. If this is your first boat no way should you be out in those conditions. Stay close to shore and seek shelter in a blow. Youv don't need it! Reef and go home.
Unfortunately, I would have to agree with Joe. If this is your first boat, and you just got it, you shouldn't even be considering a drogue. It should be a very long time (if ever) before you consider going out in conditions that require a drogue. Peter
