Scrap section of rub rail base?

I have a Hunter 280 and a small section of the white, rigid rub rail was damaged against a piling during a storm. The black rubber insert is OK. The Hunter Owners shop sells lengths of 55' and 80' (Hunter 280 rub rail, rigid keeper) but all I need is about 6'. Wondering if someone out there has a scrap piece they be willing to part with?

I think you are confusing the KEEPER versus the Actual Rub Rail

I agree that it's confusing. Technically the rub rail consists of two parts - the rigid keeper and the rubber insert. I tried to be as descriptive as possible in what was and wasn't damaged, and added a link for reference to what I was looking for, but you're right - a picture is worth 1000 words. They call the flexible rubber piece that snaps into the rub rail as the "insert". They refer to the piece that attaches to the hull as the "rub rail rigid keeper".

The people I spoke with at Sailcraft (Jennifer & Mike) were very helpful. Mike (parts department) and asked that I email him some pictures to see if he could find a match.
Apparently Deatons is now Zimmerman Marine. They were also eager to help. The switchboard operator Ashley gave me the parts person's email (Tonya). She also said Tonya might even be able recommend someplace closer to me.

I'll definitely hang on to both these contacts even if they can't help with the rub rail. Great customer service is hard to find!
