I have a 1995 Hunter 29.5. On the helm is the traveller and control lines for the boom.

My Schaefer end stop is crumbled. Please, advise on what size end stop needed...

In an earlier post another hunter owner had the same problem... and advise was to use part number Sch 74-90.

Would this part number work for my model ?

Thanks,

Dave

If your 29.5 is similar to H280, then the 1" Schaefer end stop should work for you. I tink its US$4.99 from WM. Got replacement for my Schaefer end stop at WM and cascade the old ones to my friend's H280. :)

I ordered the #74-91, and it was too big... I returned to WM and ordered the smaller one... got a totally different end stop. Now a phone call is in order... the picture in WM (on line catalogue shows correct stop, but shipped item, (same part #) was different. Hey it's the small stuff......

Sorry healyman. I guess the 280 track was bigger than the 29.5 (?)

OK, I'm beginning to see (I think) a disconnect. Ken, your post sounds like the End Stop for the jib track. Mine is silver and the track is 1". The End Stop for the traveler (on our 280), is black and a relatively soft rubber - not so much a stop as a cover for the sharp ends of the track.

Also, after looking at some pictures of 29.5's, several show a short traveler mounted just ahead of the wheel and the sheeting is practically end-boom. This is verified by healy's post ("at the helm") End-boom sheeting/travelers doesn't normally require the beef that a mid-boom traveler does and it may very well need a smaller track and end stop than what our mid-boom sheeted 280 has.

Sorry if I've mudied the water.

I think we got it.... I measure the track and conveyed to West Marine store here in Middle Tennessee... they adised that the correct part would come direct from Schafer. We shall see. Much thanks for all the replys....... once have parts in hand and do the install, will reply back with 'firm' info.
