My starter's solenoid is shot. Does anyone know a source, or is it strictly buy a new or rebuilt starter?

Had the same problem...

Bought a new solenoid from Torrenson Marine. They have a web sight. Very nice, knowledgable people. You can also try Mack Boring. Both are Yanmar dealers. Good luck.

If you are not successful getting just the solenoid at your Yanmar dealer try an automotive electric rebuilder. My starter is Hitachi and my rebuilder was able to get me a complete starter, dead match for the orriginal for a lot less than factory pricing. He tells me rebuild parts (definitely marine) are no problem
