Savvy Navvy?

Just downloaded and installed it on M1 MacBook Pro. Yes, the program is designed for iPads and iPhones and it will also run on the new generation of Macs with the M1 and M2 chips.
Loading the charts was a little slow, however it could be the internet connection too. In at least one port the information on facilities was way out of date. Not sure where they are getting their information. In contrast, Aquamaps gets their facilities info from Waterway Guide and Active Captain.
It is interesting to see these upstarts take on the old timers like Navionics and iNavX.

There is a provision for offline charts if you upgrade from the free version. I have not spent the money to explore that. It apparently uses wifi/IP data if connected as it locates me at the marina's wifi router location on the computer and more accurately locates me on the phone.
There is a free 14 day trial subscription for the premium version.

I played around with the free version on Saturday. The limited features are nice, but limited. I'll probably try out the 14-day free trial of the full version next weekend when I have a longer sail planned. Not sure I want to drop $70 per year for a subscription.
I've now played around with Savvy Navvy a fair amount - free version and 2 week trial. It has some nice features, but it's not that much better than i-Boating and iNavX (the two that I'm currently using for much less than $70/year). In some cases it's not as good as those two - this might be due to my familiarity with one app vs another. I'll save my cash for my Garmin InReach month to month subscription so I can turn on the tracking & unlimited texts whenever I sail to a neighbor island. That gives my wife much more piece of mind.
