Those touch-lights that they have been advertising on TV are great for replacing the interior lights on your boat. I found them last week in Wal-Mart for about $4 each (with batteries included) and bought a couple. I screwed one in the forepeak on the bulkhead, and the other with Velcro on the fabric overhead near the galley. I tested them last night while out on the lake and they passed with flying colors. They are bright enough to illuminate the cabin, but won't blind the person in the cockpit. They are very light and have a flat base, so they can be attached just about anywhere. They are easy to find by touch in the dark. I'm getting another one for the aft cockpit locker. At that price, I can easily replace one if it goes bad. They are definitely worth a try. Should also mention...

My wife bought a bunch of these touch lights also, but she bought them from the ad on TV- and she didn't see the little clip at the end of the commercial that said "When you place your order for the lights, you will be made a member of the 'Traveller's Advantage' club for a 90-day trial period". She placed the order and was enrolled in the program (even though she didn't really want to be in the program- She never saw that part of the ad). Three months later, her credit card was billed for $49 (I think). She never saw it coming... THey were really nice about applying a credit to her bill, though. --- I do agree with Peter - These lights are great for the H23. We keep 4 or 5 on board (in case batteries die, bulb burns out, we need a lot of light in one place, whatever). If you attach the 'hook' side of velcro to the base of the touch lite, you can slap it anywhere in the cabin of the 23 and it will stick! I hadn't thought of putting one in the cockpit locker, though. Thanks, Peter! --Jon Bastien H23 '2 Sheets to the Wind'

Where do you sail?

Peter, Which lake do you sail on? It'd be great to get our boats together sometime. Tony H240

Response to Tony

I sail on Lake Monroe near Sanford. Contact me by e-mail (oneprof@magicnet.net) and let's see if we can arrange a cruise sometime. Peter S/V Raven
