Well, I bought my first Catalina. C-22. I plan on makeing her a proper little vessel.Stem to Stern. She is not in to bad of shape. Some topside fiberglass crazing.Currently in the water. I will pull out in mid july for complete overhaul and paint/brightwork ect. Wish me luck guys. I will post some pix when able.Any info sources for paint prep would be great. Thanks. Chris.

Its a 1977. For its age its in good shape. It has some surface crazing on the cabin top which can be expected. I plan to completly overhaul the whole boat, Stem to Stern. Update the electrical system. Install a small super low noise honda 600 watt generator for AC and battery charging. New rigging and sails. The whole deal.Anyway thanks for the e-mail. Chris....P.S. Keep it simple
Chris, I'd suggest you try to keep the upgrade simple. A C22 is not a good candidate for a generator in my opinion. Try getting an outboard with an alternator or better yet use a solar panel. My two cents. Also, go to catalinadirect.com right now and order their C22 handbook. It is has a wealth of information and parts for your new boat. You can find good painting information at yachtpaint.com
