Satellite radio

[Salish Sea Cruiser]

Has anyone used either Sirius or MX satellite radio while cruising the Inside Passage to Alaska? They seem to be vague on what there coverage areas are, but I did find one map that indicates that Sirius should be available all the way up. Thanks,John

I have the XM radio and used it in the south

around the capes in Mexico with only some very minor problems and they only had one satellite. It is my understanding that Sirius has 2. I have no experience going that far north with my current radio but had a long conversation with the KVH TV antenna distributer at the last Seattle Boat Show about that coverage north and south and he advised me that with the TV satellites, the reception was much better north than south.Other people from my yacht club have gone north with both radio and TV with no reported problems.My personal experience doesn't answer your question but I thought I would respond in case no one else has any personal experience either.

Im headed to SVG in a couple weeks. I wonder if my XM will work?? Anybody know?Thanks. Bob
