I am frustrated by sat phone vendors in the Jacksonville Fl. area I would like a minimal demonstration of the GlobalStar system . None of them seem to have a system in their shop for demonstration purposes. I am interested in the handheld model and it's ability to e-mail and to minimal web search primarily for managing online banking to pay bills from offshore. Can anybody at least relate their own experience with the system. I believe it will be more reliable as far as connectivity goes vs. SSB/Pactor modem (propagation problems) Before I invest in a pac modem then find my SSB is too in consistent I would like to no about this system Thanks

globalstar

here's a second to the website article! my globalstar works very well, much clearer than the iridium and very reliable as an internet connection. It's also a real 9600 baud connection, iridium is 2400-claims 9600 using compression-and is much cheaper to operate
