Peggie...in looking over the archives, I noticed that last year you recommended Trident 101 or 102 for 1.5" sanitation hose. Is that still your recommendation (compared, e.g., to Odorsafe Plus). Thanks.

It's the best...but---

It may not be appropriate for all boats 'cuz the hose itself may outgas a strong chemical odor. No problem on boats on which the hoses are all in the bilge, but can be objectionable on boats on which the hose has to run through the cabin area...which is the case on most sailboats, So my advice: buy a foot of it and put it in a settee or under the v-berth or any locker...leave it there for a couple of weeks. If there's no chemical odor, buy it! If there is, the only other choice is the SeaLand Odorsafe hose.

Thank You

Peggie....many thanks for this clear answer. To my disappointment, 3 months ago, I used a lower grade sanitation hose (the only one carried by a local supplier) and it has already permeated. Lesson: read your forum first and order what's recommended. Thanks again. Chick W.
