Does anyone know the sanitation hose lengths for 1993 Passage42 forward head and main cabin head? Also I have been given advice on two different hose manufacturers to us either Vetus or Dometic. everyone has an opinion feel free to add yours,
I don't recommend Dometic...I've known it to permeate in as little as a year. Vetus' "best" hose is good, the only one that even comes close to Raritan SaniFlex in that it's one of the most odor permeation resistant and very flexible. Raritan SaniFlex RaritanSaniFlex hose is the top rated hose...has a 10 yr warranty against odor permeation and is so flexible it can be bent almost as tight as a hairpin. List price for 1.5" is about $17/ft ...Fisheries Supply in Seattle is asking just about that much for it, but Defender in CT has 1" for $11/ft, 1.5" for $12 and I've read they ship orders $100+ for free. Also I have been given advice on two different hose manufacturers to us either Vetus or Dometic. everyone has an opinion feel free to add yours,
With something this expensive and labour intensive to install, you don't go with lame forum opinions, you want facts. Given Peggie's professional experience and knowledge, her advice to use Raritan Saniflex hose is sound advice at any price. You only replace sanitation hose for one reason, odour permeation. I don't think anyone could put up with a permeated hose until it started to leak unless they had lost the ability to smell. And that could be a blessing at the cost of top line sanitary hoseeveryone has an opinion feel free to add yours,
That's not quite true, Ralph. 10 years is the average lifespan of any hose, not just sanitation hose, because over time rubber and plastics dry out, becoming hard, brittle and prone to cracking and/or splitting and begin living on borrowed time after about 10 years. You only replace sanitation hose for one reason, odour permeation.
The current tank is customAs for length you are not relegated to the manufacturers setup. It's possible or even likely you can improve the system. I mean you can move the holding tank for shorter runs, or make other mods.
I will go with the Raritan. ThanksI don't recommend Dometic...I've known it to permeate in as little as a year.
