Sand Blast!

Don't sandblast the hull.....If you must "blast", use higher pressure water. I don't even like that. Fiberglass is porous and solf, easy to damage. A hand scraper to remove the loose paint. Don't like for perfection in an old boat. Get the "loose stuff" off and roll on a coat or two of fresh paint.

Blasting the bottom...

...is okay to do, just don't go through the gelcoat. Barrier coat after that and then bottom paint. If you blast the bottom you need to do the barrier coat. If I were you I'd find another yard guy who knows what he's talking about. If you want to avoid the high cost of blasting/barrier coat, just go over the bottom with a random orbital sander and then fresh bottom paint. Cheers, Bob

Power Wash

I just getting the boat delivered to my house in a few days and when I inspected it they where a few lose spots in the bottom paint but good in general. So power washing will remove the loose paint and a little sanding will do the rest. Then the bottom paint will go on.
