Don't know if this is a possible forum for my problem . Am thinking about chartering in the San Juan Islands. Don't have any good references on the charter companies that are listed. Any ideas on dependable outfits. Also seems confusing flying into seattle and then getting to the marinas . any one with experience sailing there I could use some advice

Try Anacortes Yacht Charters

Mickey, We now live in the San Juans but chartered up here a couple of times before we moved here. We had good success with Anacortes Yacht Charters in Anacortes, WA which is on the mainland. There is a shuttle bus that will run you directly from SeaTac to AYC's front door. The San Juan's are a great place to charter. Let me know if you need any further information. Been there, done that!

Mickey, We chartered a boat for a week from Anacortes Yacht in Anacortes. Worked out very well. It was a bit of additional effort in flying into Seattle then taking a shuttle to Anacortes, but they delivered right to the charter door. Very nice area to sail, but be prepared for some substantial currents! Kevin

San Juan Sail is the answer

I highly recommend San Juan Sailing (1-800-672-7245) in Bellingham. They are a American Sailing Association member, and have good choice of sail boats for review. You can fly into the Bellingham International Airport and they will pick you up. I teach sailing for them in the spring and know them to be good folks. Either Anacortes or Bellingham is a great jump off spot for your chartering. E-mail me if you have further questions. Les

I have sailed with just about all of them

I have chartered in the san juans now for 8 years and I like Anacortes Yacht charters the best, and San Juan Sailing second. The boats are top notch and the service is excellent.
