San Francisco Bay Moorage

Planning to make a trip to San Francisco bay with my 260 Hunter, I would like to find a marina to moor the boat, also it would be great if it was within walking distance of a hotel with a kitchenette. For 12 days in September. If you could help me out with some names and locations it would be great coming into town from the north.(Canada).

Marina Village Yacht Harbor in Alameda has two hotels on the property, one of which is an Extended Stay America. Best weather on the Bay as well.

I second Fast Bottoms recommendation. The Marina Village Inn is right next door to our Oakland Yacht Club Marina. Check on the accommodations and if it works, call our office and we'll work out a slip for you. Alameda is the Riviera of the Bay. Close by is the ferry and rapid transit (BART) to San Francisco.

That's right Gary and if you go up to the Delta, well that's the Virgin Islands without the airfare!

Yea boat is on a trailer, and it has bottom paint, even though it is a fresh water boat.

What anti fouling paint are you using and how long will the boat be in the water in the Bay?

What I'm getting at is that the paint used on a trailerable boat in freshwater may not be suitable for the relatively high fouling conditions found in San Francisco Bay.

Well...it's a little bit hotter (105F today), and the water isn't quite as clear, but it IS like going back in time (like the 1950s, the way New Zealand used to be before Lord of the Rings :dance.
