Checked out a local Sam's Club recently for Golf Cart Batteries. They carry "Powerfast" by Interstate Batteries and have 210 ah. Price on these are only $74. I haven't priced golf cart batteries from Interstate yet but I know golf cart batteries from other sources are well over $100. Can this be too good to be true or are these a case of you get what you pay for.

"ditto"

I also bought Sam's golf cart batteries and so far so good. It also has been about 6 months. I am in a slip and I have taken up the practice of unplugging while not there. Trying for better battery maintainance.

Keep it up,

Re: "ditto"

I've had them for three years and have had no problems. Just keep them up properly and they should last a long time

Where? Please point us to this source!:) My local distributor is now over $160.00 each. 8 Years ago they were $65.00 each...

I do have a friend who has the Sam's Club GC2's on his boat and they've been serving him well even though he abuses them and does not take very good care of them. I think he's on his fourth or fifth season..

We use floorjacks and floor scrubers with 4 X 6 volt battery banks

Trojan has not been any better than Interstate and in fact is the only brand we have had that shorted internaly and poped a cap

I've had very good luck with the Sam's golf cart 6V deep cycle. They have even survived some time under salt water 4 years ago!!!

...and I paid a bit less last year. As I recall they were $68 and Trojans were $115 (discounted) that same time. I had gone through two sets of Trojans, and while I was satisfied with them, I decided to give the Sam's a whirl.

Sams Golf Cart Batteries

We totally agree. We have used 4 Sam's golf cart batteries since the early 90's. They last for years - slow discharge, slow recharge, perfect for house bank. We use a deep cycle battery for a starting battery.

Are the Sams batteries down there "Powerfast" made by Interstate. Curious if Sams in Canada would be sourcing stuff like that from Canadian or US sources.

Sams Club says their golf cart batteries are made by Johnson Controls which makes Interstate batteries.

Scott, In the US, SamsClub in the past have carried Johnson Controls Exide Brand of Golf Cart Batteries. While Johnson may currently supply most of the Auto batteries to Interstate, Interstate golf cart batteries have in the past been supplied by US Battery. US Battery golf cart batteries are usually noted in the Interstate catalog with a U prefix ahead of the number, usually U2200,U2000 or U2300. U2000 and U2200 have the same measurements while the U2300 is about one inch taller.
I have four Interstate U2200 batteries on Windancer and after 5 seasons they appear to act like new. I never discharge them below 50% and they get recharged at the dock each week with a Truecharge 40. During the summer we spend 7-8 weeks in the North Channel, on the hook 75% of the time.
The 210 ah rating you reported would indicate the battery is a US Battery US2000, The US2200 which I have are rated at 225ah. Both measure 10 1/4 L x 7 1/8H x 11 1/8 H. They weigh 59 and 63 lbs.
These batteries are as good if not better than Trojan T105's . A Conclusion I came to after a survey I made 5 years of a number of golf cart suppliers in Florida.I talked to US Batteries Chief Engineer back then and he said I could expect 800-2000 cycles with their batteries .

Scott, Was at my local Sams today and checked their golfcart batteries. At least in my area, NE Ohio, Johnson Controls supplies their Energizer 220ah , EGC2 golf cart battery. Price, $71.78. Johnson Controls golfcart batteries have individual screw caps, while the Interstate-US Battery model has the ganged cap you remove all three at once. If the battery you are looking at has this type of cap, and had the measurements noted in my previous message, I am sure it was supplied by US Battery and I would highly recommend it.

I have been using "Sams Club" batterys.....

On the boat and in both cars (my Harley too now that I think about it) for the past 10 to 15 years, and have nothing but good things to say about them. I will buy my next battery there too, no question. (almost forgot, lawn tractor too!)

Are you saying to buy American made Interstate.
Wrong they are mare in Mexico.
I just replaced one of my interstate 4-D battery this week and it said made in Mexico.
At the interstate authorized distributor warehouse had a pile of stickers for every American and foreign auto maker.
