See pics...some dry rot with a torn seam. Fabric so rotted that stitches probably wouldn't hold. Should I have it repaired or buy a used Jib for $200?

If you have questions, take it to a reputable sail maker, he can advise you as to your options. Either way, get your check book out.
With that many rips & tears at the outer edges of stitched seams that doesn't look good,or bowed well for that sail. I heard North sails will give U a trade in discount for old worn out sails towards new ones. But they'll cost U a lot more than $200!
Just dropped off the sail yesterday for repair at a shop in New London CT. Quoted repairs at $250 which sounds good to me!
FYI I'm using a "Mariner" Roller Furling which wraps directly to the wire stay. May be the cause of the seam rip?

I've never even heard of a furler that wraps directly to the forestay, and probably for good reason. That sounds like the perfect recipe for sail chafe to occur. Although another cause for jib wear on a furler is U.V. damage & wind chafe. I did not see a U.V. wear strip installed on that sail. If its not present, U need it to protect the sail. If the existing one is more than 20 years old, which is about its lifespan, I personally would not put money into a worn or threadbarren sail. This is the drive for your boat, & worn out sails can hurt performance more than anything else. They also have a nasty habit of blowing out in high winds right when U need 'em!
It does have a UV layer which the sailmaker is repairing (Farrar Sails in New London CT). Yeah the Mariner is the only device I have ever seen that is designed for hanked on jibs to actually wrap around the existing forestay.
That was what I thought but the sailmaker felt like he could make the repair and give me a good 5-10 more years out of it.
