Salt Water to Fresh Water, PROBLEMS?

Hello All, I purchased a salt water boat and taking her to "sweet" water. I have read somewhere that the residue from the salt water in the engine and heat exchanger will swell up when fresh water is run through it.  Does anyone have any information on this????thanks,howie

Watch for blisters on your bottom

I can't help with the engine, but I met a guy who had his boat in salt water for several years and never had a blister. He moved it to a lake for 9 months and when he hauled her out she had 15 or more 2" and larger blisters and many more smaller ones.I don't know why. I would think that salt water has higher osmotic pressure and would cause more blister problems. Perhaps someone here can shed more light on the problem.Jim Cook"Dream Chaser"
