I'm confounded by a pesky leak on my 2005 Hunter 36. It is a saltwater leak that occurs in the area of my thru hulls which are located at mid-ship just in front of the engine compartment. However, the thru hulls are not the culprit. I have traced the leak to the area just in front of all the thru hulls. But I cannot get access to the area I need to see. There are all these little canals with opennings that allow water to find the bilge where the keel bolts onto the boat. I have checked all the thru hulls. I'm lost. The amount of water is subtantial enough for me to be concerned.

Any trends? Meaning does the leak occur when sailing, sitting at dock? I assume no head smell since you didnt mention so probably not plumbing. Is your refer salt water cooled? Perhaps if you can turn on saltwater systems on at a time and give them the chance to leak you can work towards the source. Are any of the backing plates on the thru hulls wet? And are you sure its salt and not fresh that is getting mixed with bildge water that is common from say your packing gland? Water heaters, fresh water tanks, ports that leak down the inside of the boat are common.

Good luck

Ditto. Packing gland. I believe its higher than that bilge compartment on my 356. It could produce significant amounts of water. It would flow that way and emerge in that place, I think. It is easily fixed.
