Salt water foot pump/faucet- what do you use it for?

Our boat came without the actual foot pump and faucet assembly. It was there at one time, but was removed. The rest of the parts (seacock, hose and a hole in the counter top) are already there. So I got tired of looking at the hole at the bottom of the cabinet, always opening a wrong seacock and looking at the cork on the counter top. So, I bought all of the parts, and now, wondering if I would really use sea water in the sink. For those who have this manual pump, what do you use it for? or should i connect this pump to something else Thanks!

by all means use it if you plan a lot of time on the water away from the slip it is very good for rinsing things off washing your hands even cleaning fish ect ect ...if you are going to be a dock king then you will not need it because there will be plenty of water at the dock

Use seawater for washing dishes, and dirty hands, then rinse in fresh water... it saves fresh water.
Some full time cruisers also prefer the manual pump over an electric on their fresh water system because it conserves water.
It may be an unnecessary hinderance for your style of boating so dont install it unless you see a need for it..

my 94 has a foot pump which pumps water from the bottom of the fridge into the drain line from the galley sink.
