Salon Table O'Day 28

Does anyone know how the salon table, specifically the small shelf behind the table top, attaches to the bulkhead on the O'Day 28? I would like to build something a little more useful behind the table top, similar to the pantry shelf picture posted in the Boat Info section. But I can't figure out how to get the shelf off the bulkhead, and I am loath to cut it out.

Any help?

Check carefully for plugged screw holes in the head area or on the shelf you want to remove.
