My '78 Hunter 33 is in need of a salon facelift. Anybody out there have a preference for a replacement fabric, upholstery, etc. to apply to the interior hull. I'm looking for some mildew resistance, sound attennuation, and cleanability. The boat lies in tropical waters. Thanks! Edward Brennan

Edward: We upgraded the interior of our new H410 with Navy Sunbrella to match all the exterior canvas. Moisture resistant, fade resistant, extremely durable and washable. And, it looks so nice that we just redid the interior of our Catalina 30 with the same Navy Sunbrella. Of course, Sunbrella comes in a wide variety of colors and all canvas shops can get it. /c s/v Twilight

Nothing "marine" about interior upholstery fabrics
You just need a good upholstery fabric that can "take a lickin' and keep on tickin'..." You find a much better selection of colors and textures for lower prices at big discount fabric 'warehouses' than you will from any "marine" source. Just be sure that material is color-fast, and resistant to rot and mildew.

I'm in the process of doing the same thing. I'm gonna try sumbrella furniture grade. It's a bit pricey but, I'm told it resists mildew and wears well and is fairly easy to work with on a regular sewing machine. It come in a bunch of colors so you can match your sail/winch/awnings if you want. If your interseted try searching for sumbrella there are a few dealers on the web. Good luck dan illusions

Maybe Not Sunbrella?
I replaced the interior fabrics with sunbrella three years ago. Love the color scheme and such, but it is quite difficult to clean and seems to "absorb" dirt and stains. Maybe sunbrella is best left to sail covers and bimini's? Michael O'

US Yacht Cushions - Excellent source
I purchased new cushions for our 87 Hunter 31 in June and US Yacht made an excellent set for us....new foam and all! The price was less than a set of replacement covers...all I had to do was give them the hull number and fabric I wanted.
