I have recently purchased a damaged sailboat and am in need of new cushions and mattresses. Can anyone point me in the direction to a company that I can trust? Thanks! c

Cushions

For salon cushions, you might want to go with a local upholsterer. The person that did my cushions in my last boat has done all of our sofas and chairs for our house. If you ask around locally, someone can point you in the right direction. I've never had actual matresses in any of my boats so I can't help you out there. Hope this helps.

Interior cushions

We had new interior cushions made by a local upholster this past November. He used 4" thick foam padding, naugahyde on the underside and non-visible sides, and a durable fabric for the top suraface and visible sides. The fabric was a designed for industrial purposes, i.e. restuarants, theaters, stadium seating. The approxiamate cost for seven cushions, V-berth(2), Q berth(1), sette berths(4) was approx $1,500. Looking forward to putting them in the boat and sailing.

Clay-Go see Bonnie @ Island Canvas on DIP, on the left just over the Dog River Bridge. She does great work. There is also Canvas Products on Halls Mill Road east of I65. Over the years I have used both companies for various canvas work. Good luck!
