33.5 sails

On my 33.5 I replaced the stock 110% jib with a 125% genny because I already had the sail. I would'nt go with much more than 135%, assuming you have roller furling. The 33.5, with its tall, fractional rig, gets most of her power from the large mainsail with the foresail balancing out the rig. I find that in winds over 20 knots, you are better off to reef the main and leave the headsil out. On my 28.5 (masthead rig) I would reef the foresail first, and then the main, but on the 33.5 it seems to work better doing it the other way. If you get a larger headsail, say like a 155%, and then have it rolled up to reef it all the time doesn't make much sense to me because reefing screws up the sail shape. I would reccomend that you invest in a cruising spinnaker for downwind and reacing in light air. Thats my plan, anyway.
