I was just wondering if it's possible to use old sails from a 1973 O'Day Daysailer II on my 1976 Daysailer II. Seems like it would work but just wanted to get an answer from someone who knows for sure.. Thanks, Turner

It's a matter of measurement.

You need to find out the J/I/P/E of both boats. If there's no difference then sure. If your boat has slightly larger numbers then again, sure. The only time it won't work is when the other boat's sail is longer in one or more dimensions than your boat's sail. Example: Boat A has a J of 10' and an I of 32' Boat B has a J of 9'8" and an I of 31'6". Boat B's sails would work on Boat A but not vice versa.

Also,

Depends on sail slides, hanks and/or RF. Sails can be modified, but it costs some $$.

as per class rules

the daysailor assoc. class rules are very specific about the size of your rig dimensions and sails. I'm going to guess that they MUST be the same, as they race each other
