I recently purchased the Reliable Corporations Barracuda 2000U-33 machine because I needed a machine to repair and maintain the canvas of the boat, and complete basic sail repairs.

The Barracuda is designed for boat owners and hobbyists, like myself, and easily sews through layers/ thick materials (including leather), never skipping a stitch. I've found that it is really great for repairing the mainsail cover, restitching, and even reattaching heavy vinyl. It's a heavy duty machine that gets the job done like a professional. I do not use the machine for home sewing because it is really meant for sailboat canvas and sails.

I did a lot of research before purchasing the quality machine, which is only $500 (it does straight stitch, Zig Zag, walking foot heavy metal, etc). Honestly, you get the best value for your money.

The company recently upload some YouTube videos on the machine. Take a look.

Good choice on the Sailrite, you won't regret it!

I've had owners of their company return my emails within minutes on a weekend for questions I had about the machine, their customer service is outstanding.

I've had it four or five years now, replaced all the canvas on my boat and built a bunch of stuff for other sailors and have had very few problems. Very reliable machine.
