With 20-30 inches of snow on the ground here in the metro Washington, DC area, I've a lot of shoveling practice of late. When the snow started to stick to my shovel, I sprayed the shovel with McLube Sailkote. This stuff worked much better than I thought. I also never thought I'd be wearing my foulies in deep snow. And this with only 50+days until launch. I hope.

Pam is cheaper. So is fluid film, which is what I used on my snowblower this year. I bet there isn't a snowblower to be found in your neck of the woods at the moment. Glad to see you have power though! Be sure to take a lot of breaks and stretch when shoveling a lot if you aren't in good shape. I blew out a disk at 25 shoveling light snow. It wasn't the wait it was rotating my torso a lot, a motion one normally doesn't do unless operating a shovel!

Gee Warren, 25-30inches, Should be on our side of the town. Officially we got 32 but some of us more. We were told this morning we won't see a plow until Wednesday - maybe - since another 6" storm is coming in Tuesday evening. Still got power.... Hot tub is holding up real nice...

Here in Columbia MD, between DC and Baltimore, the official count is 33.8 inches. I have a double wide driveway about 2.5 car lengths long. I am so sore from shoveling but very glad the power came back on after 14 hours. Hope the boat is ok.

This year we've had just about zero snow, too. None on the ground, right now. Go figure, indeed.

Try waxing your snowblowers and snow shovels with ordinary auto wax...cheap solution to a sticking problem.

You have to just love the global warming fanatics as we are all going thriugh the mini-ice age. Try and locate Ole' Al Gore to help shovel...ha! ha!

PAM???

Why didn't I think of that!

New five inches on the ground on top of two feet already here in Amish Country.

Ran out of spray teflon after last Saturday's storm, but there's a big can of Pam on the pantry shelf. My wife won't miss it until we find the grill again after the Spring melt!

Blizzard conditions in Harford County MD expected to continue until after dark tonight. I haven't seen this much snow since I left Bangor, ME in 1959. We shoveled out the walk about midnight looked like about 5-6 inches. There is at least that much more at noon today and blowing a triple reef wind.

Just as we were starting to see daylight from the storm last weekend, we got slammed again. Blizzard/white out sounds like an understatement. I haven't seen this much snow since I was snowed in for 4 days in May 1966 in a remote site in SoDak in a Minuteman Missile silo.

However, I've found the cure snow weariness: Captain Morgan Spiced Rum. Couple of shots and you could care less what's going on outside....which now looks like a Biblical event.

This too shall pass, but perhaps like a kidney stone....

After the last storm my back yard looked like a winter scene from Dr. Zhivago.

What I don't get is that they say that having the government shut down is costing millions a day...you think we would be saving billions a day LOL. :D

I'd be willing to pay millions to keep the government from working.

None right now Cruiser Don't have on yet
I'm starting to see more geese flying back north, I hope that it's a good sign. Either that or it got too cold for them in the south and decided to head home anyway.

It is still a month from the Canada Geese migration on the atlantic flyway. Usually close to the full moon close to the equinox.

I don't know if Canada geese are the best guide. ;) A ton of them now stay all year in Southern Ontario. My wife who grew up in this area, says it's a relatively recent occurrence that they hang out all winter (last 30 years). I kind of like them, but alot of city-folk think they're a nuisance. They poop everywhere...
