I sail a lot on genny alone simply because its easier to handle when sailing by myself, which is 99% of the time. But I really need to force myself to sail with the main more. I guess a lot of it is just laziness on my part.

anyway re the ease factor i think it depends on the boat. it's actually a lot of fun working the main on my cat25 since the it's right at the tiller (tiller in one hand main in the other). however on the cat30 a complete different scenario! next year would like to install secondary winches aft for either main or head.
