Not sure if they've been linked, so here's the links to her FB and Youtube..

There's also a donation link in her youtube video descriptions (which I had overlooked until recently lol). I do like that she has the link there, but has never to my knowledge came out and said "oh woe is me, can you all please send money for me?". She's always soldiered on throughout, and even upon this latest development, has gotten her spirits back beneath her and is pushing through.

Just watched the 26 videos on Youtube. Inspiring and concerning at the same time. Inspiring in seeing a young person commit to a grand adventure and concerning in the seemingly limited knowledge. Big water alone is no place to learn. Should prove interesting to see how she progresses. Did offer an invite to join us here at SBO since I have dumped facebook and joined google+ which includes youtube.

I do agree that it's no place to learn, but in watching so far, it does look like she's taken kind of baby-steps along the way. She hasn't just jumped out into the ocean for hundreds of miles yet, just smaller shake-downs while learning and getting the systems up and running. I have faith that she's progressing down a good path so far, and as long as she isn't rushing anything, or skimping on what needs to be done, I think she's going to do fine in the long run. Hopefully, anyway. And it's an enjoyable few minutes I look forward to on Fridays, to watch her progress (probably because the weather is preventing my OWN progress lol)

I am in agreement with you on taking baby steps CharlzO. From my own restoration I had a tough choice. Launch as is and try to finish up when able or scratch a season and finish. Glad I chose the scratch the season. Not a single issue besides the engine at launch. YOT never left the dock until everything was 100% and even then an overheated coil was causing grief. It would be nice to see her get everything shipshape and have the experience of a lifetime. Her best quote in my opinion was regarding not trusting Karl. Doubt is not always a bad thing when your life is at risk. Changed my opinion of her as cavalier. I love it when I'm wrong.

After watching 27 it seems she has a positive frame of mind and moving forward again.

I'm relieved for her that things are looking up, was pretty bleak when she first hauled out, specially after all the other work she'd done. Definitely curious what solution she will use to repairs. Am betting on DIY, she's just that kind of gal, or maybe what I'd do!

Lesson: Haul out first!

Still amazed at her tenacity and focus. What are her friends in Germany doing while she reclines on her old main sail bag w the last 2 grinding disks in Panama?

On her facebook blog she said some people showed up to help her. I got a chuckle that after weeks of solo grinding at the very end a sanding party shows up. We sailors know when it is the right time to volunteer to help......right at the very end.

:D
