Sailing to Maine ??

If you plan on sailing to Maine this summer there are several things that are guaranteed,
Superb scenery, great quiet anchorages, lobsters and FOG.
The USCG has instigated Mariner Radio Activated Sound Signal MRASS. This system is operated in a similar manner to the way that pilots approaching unmanned airfield can remotely command the airfield lighting to switch on by beeping their VHF radio on a particular frequency. Its been around for decades so no new technology here.
For mariners in Maine the command is on channel is 83A.

This is very cool, where can we find out what lighthouses have this option.... I sail down to Maine a couple times a year out of New Brunswick...

I think I'd be tempted to activate one just to hear it. I wonder if there is a penalty for activating a fog horn unnecessarily?
