I'm not trying to talk you out of it and dont mean to be rude. I see small boats out where I personally would never take them and it makes me cringe. But thats me. If you are comfortable then fine

BayMan, takes a lot more than that to change my mind on things. No issues here. Love being on open water!

why not come here to Traverse City and make a tour of it? you could put in here at the Elmwood TWP Marina, sail up to Suttons Bay, and tour the town (some nice resturants, a quaint place), sail to Omena where there is wine tasting, and old yacht club and a bar ( also where I grew up I might try and find a mushroom we used to moor a cal 30 we had on), then on Northport and do likewise, round the horn and visit Leland and dock up and if you really need a ride back to your vehicle to pull your boat out there I would be happy to give you a ride. the thing about that trip is you can always hug the shore and you will never be in too deep of crap. I did the Suttons Bay to Omena leg in my luger and it took an hour and 45 in about 10 MPH wind. the bar there called "knot just a bar" has slips....and they might rent them for a night
