A month or so ago there was a posting from a couple who were sailing the 'LOOP' in a Hunter 260. Has any one heard of their progress? Have they posted any photos? Tom Grass Grasshopper II H-26 #174

We are having a ball

The wife and I are now in central Canada, we have gone almost 1800 NM (in 4 months) and are currently docked at Campbellford Town on the Trent-Sevens. If you want pictures and a sailing update that I sent out about once a week and here in Canada we use the public WiFi (Version is to expensive) so it might be longer than 1 week, send me an e-mail requesting to be put on the e-mail. ***LKYusnret2@aol.com****. The only time constraint we have is to be in Chicago by Sept. 20, the 260 is not a good ice breaker. Everybody has been great on the trip and it is a new experience every day. we are now in the company of a couple we meet in Oswago NY that have a 26 ft displacement motor vessel (about the same hull speed) and crossed as a team Lake Ontario and thru Trent-Sevens Canal. Most people are interested in the problems we have had..... OK had to replace a relay on the A/C, replaced the refrigerator, and broke the rudder, all adventures. The o/b gets the tender care and has worked well pushing the boat at a cruising speed of around 5.5 to 6 KTS. We average about 35 to 45 NM a day when we are underway. John USNret

Loop photos would be fabulous

I'll second Toms call for those great loop photos from John and his Admiral. What a trip to do in a 260. It's surly one of the most demanding trips this boat will be asked to complete and it sounds like they're making good time at 45mi a day. That's a lot of interesting places to have to zoom past to beat the big freeze. I wonder what the sailing to motoring ratio is. Living the dream, way to go. I'd love to do this and will be anxious to hear the details of the more interesting days and eqt you needed and didn't need. Hmmmm I wonder what Kelli would say if I quit my job to sail/motor around the loop.....*pop Sent John a request to put us on the list. We'll look forward to sailing with you for a couple days down the west coast when you get this way. Have a great time and be safe. Michael and Kelli 2004 H260 s/v Easy Goin' Sarasota, Fl

Here is a blog on a current Looper...

http://pogopelli.blogspot.com/ They are currently entering Lake Ontario afte leaving from Tennessee back in December. they do a great job of pictures and story of sites they visited, but not much info about their boat and boat issues. Still good reading. Start on the right side with the oldest date, and proceed through each months reports, then conclude with the city posts above the monthly posts..Happy Reading..
