Finally got to sail one of those 4700 cats in the islands,WOW a lot of boat for sure. We had a cook and captain which was the best thing we did, they were locals who grew up in the area and new everything there was to know about sailing all the different islands. They showed us how to have a great vacation and we did it all on a different island every day. Nick

Hey Nick which one are you?

:) Glad to hear you had a great time. What was the cost? How many of people on the boat? Where are all the pictures? Jim S/V Java

Grenadines

Nick, Last night I began to work on getting to Bequia. Quickly learned that you can't get there from here. Where did you charter? What Company?

Grenadines Charter

We chartered with the Moorings out of Canouan, the first island to the South of Bequia, in the Grenadines in the Summer of 2006. The boat was 3 months old, the sailing was incredible, the islands were beautiful. Have them do some of the provisioning for you as the options in Canouan are very limited for shopping. Better opportunities in Union Island, Bequia, or St. Vincent. What we paid for the food in advance was less than it actually cost there, the quality was excellent, and the quantity very generous.

Get to Bequia from St. Vincent

Bryce: If you want to stay on land on Bequia, fly into St. Vincent and take the ferry over. It's cheap and easy-- a short taxi ride from the airport. If you want to sail, there is a Sunsail base 15 minutes south of the airport, just across the pass from Bequia. I think Horizon and/or Barefoot is there too. Bequia is one of my all-time favorite island stops. Gary Even Keel II
