I am headed to Fort Lauderdale for a vacation at the end of the month. I will be spending some time (1 to 2 days) in Key Largo for SCUBA diving. Can anyone suggest a place to take a cruise or rent a daysailer? I am not interested in chartering for 5 to 7 days would just like to feel the wind for a day.....

Best Grouper Sandwich in Key Largo!
Dan... Little off the subject, but if your diving Pennekamp out of Key Largo, watch for the signs for "Jules-Verne Undersea Hotel" (on left) when your on Key Largo. Just next door to this rather interesting place is a small but popular out of the way restaurant that serves, what I feel is the best Grouper sandwich around. Check it out when your down there. I forgot the name, but am certain about the location. Their might be a few small private charters, but it would be best to search the web, contact the Chamber of Commerce or the local marina's. Small boats can be rented on the bay side (Sunfish, Hobie Cats, etc) at the hotel (Sheridan ?) on the north side of A1A toward the next Keye. Headin down myself in June for some diving with the family. Have fun Bob 30 Catalina

Key Largo
Hi there, Try the "Key Lime sailing Club" at mile 99, the little motel has, I think, three 22 footers for the guests, we were at the Pelican in January and looked the boats over ourselves for a possiblity when we return later this year. Have fun.--JB

There used to be a place on Key Biscayne
There used to be a place in Crandon Park that rented H23s and C22s. It's next to the Crandon Park Marina on the west side of the Rickenbacker Causeway. I've rented there a couple of times and their rates were pretty decent. Don't know for sure if they're still there though...
