And so it is with 2018. Our boat spent 5 months on the water here on the coast of Maine(normal). We spent about 40 nights onboard this season, more than our normal which is usually about 30.
October has been cooler and wetter than we expect but you can't count on weather. I'm usually trying to find a dock in the water at the end of October, to strip the sails, booms and mizzen mast, before haul out.
Our public docks are maintained and pulled - usually around now - by our local Public Works Dept.
I'm happy to report all our docks are still in, and I was the only one using them the other day. The Harbor Master told me to stay as long as I wanted, the Public Works guys are off Moose Hunting until next week. Good deal.
There was no rush in sailing season 2018, it was a good one.
