I chartered at Yachting Vacations when I was looking for a home in Punta Gorda. Hired a captain to go along and "show" me Charlotte Harbor. Great experience - I definitely recommend them!

Renting aboat near Sanibel

Good luck, I was down last December and wanted to rent a sailboat for a few hours. I was staying at Captiva Island where Off Shore Sailing School is located. I had taken one of their courses and asked if I could rent a boat, and was told no. They did offer a boat and instructor for some unbelievable fee. I checked the yellow pages but still no luck. I hope you have better weather and success in finding a boat.

Southwest Florida Yachts at Burnt Store Marina near Punta Gorda. They may be bopoked up already since that is the busy season.
