We just watched The Boat last night - not to be confused with Das Boot. I won't make any comments at this point, except to say I'm glad we don't have a Beneteau. I'm sure there might be some interesting comments in the future.

The trailer looks scary! I think just stay clear of the possessed Beneteau's.

Watched WIND last night for the zillionth time. Thin story line, but the best sailing I've ever seen in a movie. Was on Amazon for four bucks.
We actually have the DVD; so also have watched many times. Great movie for the sailing scenes.

I wonder whether this might explain why Beneteaus have been shedding their keels? :yikes:

Pacific High is one of my all time favorites. Good old days of racing. A sailor's movie.

Watched The Boat last evening on Amazon Prime. They got the sailing stuff right as far as I could tell (which is unusual for sailing films) but the premise and plot defied my ability to suspend disbelief. I guess that’s par for the course in horror movies. Oh well, worth a watch if you’ve run out of other choices during lockdown.

Watched "Sea Gypsies: The Far Side of the World" about a 120 ft sailing ketch sailing from New Zealand to Antarctica then to Patagonia on Amazon Prime last night for free.

I would recommend Captains Courageous (the original version 1938) about the Grand Banks fisheries in the late 30s. You may enjoy the whole movie but there is a long scene of two Schooners racing back to port. It is done without special effects and is amazing footage. Makes you wonder how they did such a good job of filming. I

I've been planning my library for a long voyage; or a pandemic it seems. My library of sailing movies. If it's on a modern boat, or about racing it's here. No pirate movies. The only true exception is Master and Commander, which is too badass to leave off. Anything I'm missing?

Shackleton’s Captain”. Great story about Capt Worsley and his epic voyage 800 miles from Antarctica to South Georgia Island in a 22’ boat in 1916. Oh, across the southern ocean in winter.
