Ok, one more - maybe not the target market, but..

I really like the info in Ocean Navigator! It's not ALL about extended cruising, but let's face it, even if we won't go, it's fun to read about! Trevor

my take

I have been getting Sail and Practical Sailor for years. This topic came up on this Forum last year and it sparked me to order many of the ones I had not been getting. so on a wild ordering spree I went. Here is what I like; YMMV Lats and Atts blows, not worth the paper it's printed on; it's stupid and boring .. sorry those of you that like it. I tried, I really did, read many issues, can't find much value, I will not be renewing. Good Old Boat - Get's better all the time. There is a lot more in this mag than just how to fix up an old Pearson. This is a well done publication, chock full of all kind of information. Practical Sailor - A mini Consumer Reports, great if your in the market for what they are doing a test on. I let my subscription lapse as I just never was in that market at the time the info was relevant. Small Craft Advisor - yawn. Sailing - I think it's published by Sail and it shows, same articles show up in both. Get one or the other. Wooden Boat - Love it, I'll build that wooden Yawl some day - dream on. Cruising World - good if your going to do long distance cruising. Sailing World - If your nuts about racing this is the one for you; else, it's a bit tedious.

Just Goes To Prove

that asking "What is the Best..." anything is a real weird question. Try books, too. Stu
