I am hoping to charter a bareboat monohull in Croatia somewhere October 10th for about 10 days. I don't know anything about the area, but I've heard it's nice. Does anyone have suggestions about where it would be best to go?

The sailing press has had articles on that cruising ground. I'm thinking SAIL. If you can't find them on the website see if your charter company can give you a reference.
Sounded like a great place - clear water, good cheap wine, cafes, centuries old hamlets etc.
The Noonsite is not as positive regarding the authorities and fees.

I just returned from a trip to Croatia this past week. Some of the most incredible water I have ever witnessed, not to mention more sailboats in every port that you can count. You will have to study up on navigation aids, as some are reversed from those in the US. Lots of islands and an opportunity to get lost (in the good sense of the word).

As a subscriber to Yachting Monthly for a number of years, I admit to some envy caused by their well-illustrated articles about cruising that area. It does look Totally Beautiful!
Please post up some pix of your sail there. :)
