Hi all -

Any good sailing reads to recommend here for summer reading? I just finished 2 books that I would recommend:

- Breaking Seas by Glen Damato
- Chasing the Horizon - Capt Fatty Goodllander

I haven't gotten around to reading it but my wife actually got to it before me, "Superior Run" by Tom Wells. It's a suspense drama set on Lake Superior (our cruising grounds so it hits home with us) My wife liked it which is a pretty good endorsement.

Some sailing related books I have read over the past year:

Jaws; Benchley, Peter; oldie but goodie
Desparate Voyage; Caldwell, John; his single handed sail across Pacific in 1946

Swallows and Amazons; Ransome, Arthur; kids sail on lake in summer

Shipkiller, The; Scott, Justin; sailor seeks revenge on tanker

Seaworthy: Adrift with William Willis in the Golden Age of Rafting; Pearson, T. R.; transPac rafter in 50's

books by Deutermann, Peter T.; thrillers and stories set on naval vessels and at the Naval Academy

I liked Blue Water by Manette Ansay ... but this book is probably written for women.

If you haven't read Sailing Alone Around the World by Joshua Slocum, read it ... just about every sailor has.

Final Passage by Timothy Frost was last year's book. Good suspense/thriller novel.
