Instead of cutting 1.5" off the top of my motor mount I made a one out of plywood over the winter.
Gets my motor 1.5" deeper in the water. Comes in handy when motoring in a chop.

Anybody interested in one of those polystyrene blocks?

I have the opposite problem. My motor is either about right or so low the head is almost in the water.

I put one of the solid blocks of plastic to replace the plywood on my old 22.
The 2" thick plywood sandwich was destroyed.

and this was the final result of the replacement

I expect the new mount to last QUITE a while, but then the other one was probably original!
