I have a 1978 25 foot O'day with a saildrive inboard. I am trying to locate a shop manual for this engine and drive assembly. Does any one have an idea of where I can locate one, or the ISBN number that I can try to locate it? Thanks.

Sail Drive Repair Manual

I have the manual for my Sail drive it is a 1981.it is probably the same as your 1978.I can copy it an send it to you if you like. At the present time I have my Sail Drive in my cellar because I just did an overhaul job. I plan to take it to my back yard and do a test run thi weekend.

I have three parts manuals covering the various incarnations of the saildrive and one service manual. The parts manual has a part no. of 388417 and is for the 15S10S and 15S10G. The specific model can be found on a nameplate attached to the Mount Plate. This is the plate actually bolted to the boat. You should be able to get one from your local evinrude/johnson/omc dealer assuming they're still available.Unfortunately, my service manual is on the boat right now (about 2-1/2 hrs from me), but I can make copies if you wish. Let me know.I've just pulled the unit from the boat since I need to do some maintenance on it. Let me know if you have any questions I can help you with. It's actually not a bad task, the hardest thing being to separate the block from the adapter plate.Russ
