I had my sails done last year (1988 35,5) and they came back looking like new. Also the performance was better I would defnitly recommend having it done.

Sailcare info and a question

Hi Robert:FYI - Sailcare cannot reresin all sails. I just sent in my sails and the estimate I just received states that although my mainsail can be cleaned, etc. my North 155 Genoa is made of a laminate material and cannot be processed.I have yet to contact them for followup. There are some repairs to be made to the sail and I hope, minimally, it can also be cleaned w/o the resin processing.If this cannot be done by Sailcare, does anyone have any recommendations for a sail cleaning product?Thank youSteve!

Robert, Last year I purchased a '85 25.5 and sent the sails to Sailcare for reconditioning and possible repair. The sails hadn't been raised for a number of years and I was wondering if I could get another 2 years before purchasing new. They responded back that my main was finuto, but they could rehank, place teltails and recondition the jib, for < $200. They did an excellent job on the jib and returned both sails. If you do decide to have them redo your sails, try and get them in before mid January. They get busy after the boat shows and you don't want to miss any days on the water.Good Luck, Alex _/)

Prices quoted over the phone

Had both my sails done by Sailcare six months ago. The estimate quoted over the phone prior to my sending the sails to them was unrealistic. The final costs amounted to twice over what I was quoted, but the sails looked almost brand new. I believe that Sailcare should quote a more accurate initial price considering the basic standard extras that all sails probably need done.

They are Great !!

I purchased an 86 25.5 in March,(the boat sat un-used for over a year) and the sails were not in great shape. I sent them to Sailcare and they charged me $388 to clean and repair them, both my 110 and main. The sails came back in about six weeks (spring you know), and I couldn't believe it. The sails look like they were brand new, and they are 17 years old(Neil Pride). Needless to say I'm very satisified. They put resins back in the sail cloth, and the sail shape returns, they are just terriffic. I have shown my sails to other sail boaters, and everyone has been impressed. Your sails need to be in decent shape of course, but SailCare is great.
