Rick D: Good to hear from you. We are tucked up against the mountains here in Tucson at 3400'. Not exactly like your pad in Ca but pretty close. I was thinking when I received your order as to why you were ordering another book and now I know why. Nope, I'm not a pilot and I've only flown a couple of times in a small plane. I just don't have the appitude to be a pilot of anything. The principles of flight are exactly the same for a sailboat or a plane. In fact, if you could turn a sailboat sideways it would fly. A couple of years ago at the Long Beach boat show I say a sailboat that had an airplane wing. I was surprised to see how nicely it sailed. I would have liked to get on that boat to check out the controls but it didn't happen. Hope you do well in the Ensenada race. The first time I did that race there was ZERO wind and we ended up motoring 19 hours!! The second time on the 50th it was a little better from a wind standpoint but not much. Next month I going down to Rocky Point, Mexico which is about 90 miles from Tucson to check out the area. A lot of sailors from Tucson keep their boat there. I have not seen a sailboat, other than in a storage yard, for over 1 year.
